Wonderful Winters Night In

Hello everyone :) Long time no post I know but I'm back now! I have had a lovely evening and thought there's no better time to write another blog post. Now I must say I took the easy way out with the baking this evening it was very late by the time I got the urge to bake so grabbed the box mix just to save myself time and mess.

After a quite day and going out for a lovely dinner I felt like doing a little spot of baking. I decided this at the very last moment on the way home from our dinner out so picked up a box mix from the supermarket. I went for the Edmon's Chocolate Chip Cookies :) ... I had a lovely time listening to Ed Sheeran, snugly with my jarmies on and of course the fire roaring! A wonderful winters night in!

Last day of winter, to most this is the best news they have had in the last 3 months but for me its kind of sad.
I Love Winter
Roaring fires
Hot chocolates and Marshmallows
Hats and Scarves
Long Hot Showers
Lots of Blankets
Fluffy Sheets (most people will know these by the name of flannelet sheets) ;)
Boots!
And of course Cuddles.

Makeup of The Day

A pop of lavender! As most of you would of noticed I love purple. Purple here, purple there, purple here, there and everywhere. I am now the proud owner of a gorgeous lavender colour necklace for the up coming season SPRING. It made me go lavender cray cray! There will be an up coming Jewellery of the day featuring this amazing necklace soon, today I thought I would leave it at the makeup.

Great in its Own Little Way

I had another post lined up for today but I've had such an amazing day I thought I would document that instead. Today has just been one of those great days, great for no real reason, just great in its own little way. On the other hand I could not count on all my fingers and toes how many times I have injured myself today, little bumps here and there and one real big one on my funny bone that's not so funny, it's hurting a lot more than I would expect... but anyway on to what made my day great! Work, yes work made my day great! I could not ask for anything more from my job I love it from top to toe! I was lucky enough to open up boxes full of all the new stuff! The spring collections are just the sweetest and can't wait to get my hands on a few of the new looks! I literally nearly had kittens right in the shop over how amazing the new stuff is, and of course fell in love with way too much!! It felt like Christmas, so many little parcels to open. After all that excitement went down may favourite song came on, Now there is a bit of a back story to this so here it is:

I would often hear this song at work it was just on one of our play lists and I would always love bopping away to it in store. After a few listens it became my favourite song. The name of the song playing at anytime will appear on the player in the cupboard but every time I would get too caught up in the dancing to run over and check. Needing to know the name and with great hope in Google I remembered the lyrics, came home and typed them in to the search engine. To my disappointment it didn't come up, only really old school songs written years ago and a few book titles about how to become happy. Two days in a row I tried this with the same result. Wishing to know the name I tried singing it to one of the girls at work (the worst attempt but an attempt nonetheless), still no luck. All I needed was it to replay in store... unfortunately my manager informed me it may have been on the play list we just lost. That was about two weeks ago now I was so disappointed BUT then today I was just standing there and right before my ears it was IT! My favourite song! I dropped everything grabbed a pen and paper and here it is, My favourite song of the moment.

I hope your day/night is as wonderful as mine has been, I'm feeling on top of the world right now! xx

Nails of The Day

Hello everyone :)
This is the second time I have tryed out ombre nails and to be honest I think my first attempt a while back was better but that's OK. Up close it doesn't look perfect but from a far they look funky! You can play around with all sorts of colours to come up with your very own unique design which is bound to catch the eye of others. The two down falls about this look is how long it takes and how messy it gets. Two coats of white to get a good base, then two coats with the colours using the sponge and then a top coat, then clean up! If you attempt this look set aside at least an hour. These are great summery colours that make me feel happy! Doing your nails is great for some girly pamper time and by doing them yourself ya save heaps ... more money to go toward clothes and shoes hehe.

The colours I used are white, Porcelain Party by Maybelline New York. Pink, Kiss Me on My Tulips by OPI. Yellow, Sunshine by Rimmel London and lastly orange, Apricot Punch by Rimmel London.

July Favourites

Time for my first favourites blog! Over the past month I have been loving all these items so thought I would shear!

Most of the goodies featured

This nail polish is gorgeous on: L.A Girl glitter in Animate 453 and Orly in Haute Red.

This is from Revlon's photo ready range and contains a blush, bronzer and highlighter. When I got this a few month ago I was actually disappointed but now its my go to blush and contour. With everything all on the one pallet its great for when your in a rush... Which I often am! These are great colours for winter and go nicely with strong eye makeup. This pallet is in neutral number 003.

These two products have been making me smell amazing! I have fallen in love with the smell of Whoosh, it has such an exhilarating citrus sent that wakes me up ready for the day. I am looking forward to trying the purple version of Whoosh which is called Sweetie Pie (such a cute name). Another smell I have fallen for this past month and have been using practically everyday is Madame Perfume by Jean Paul Gaultier. It is a step out of my comfort zone when it come to fragrances but I'm loving it.

This is my new facial cleanser, it keeps my skin silky soft. It has lavender pieces throughout it leaving my skin smelling amazing. It is a fairly gentle cleanser which means you can use it as little or as often as you wish, once a day works well for my skin but sometimes I will do it twice as it just feels so nice against my skin.

This lip butter case has seen better days, but in good condition considering it rolls around in the bottom of my handbag on a daily basis... which I like to refer to as my jungle, I'm sure those of you with big handbags will understand. I love this lip butter for the taste! The name says it all.

My big bling watches! When I first saw these I thought my wrist was way to small to pull the look off but now I love it and even brought a second one in silver.

These two are my favourite winter warmers, a super cute jersey from Dotti, love the navy blue with cream pokadots! And my hat this winter is grey with flux fur and a pom pom! Hope you enjoyed today's post, let me know what your favourite item was for last month... My absolute favourite for the whole of winter is featured in my first Youtube video, it is a hair treatment that I will use for as long as they sell it. If you want to find out what one it is and where it is from head over to Youtube and check out my channel ZedshaZed.

Oops! - Youtube Troubles

This isn't beauty related but is a big part of ZedshaZed so thought I would do a blog about my troubles with Youtube.

The day before last I put my first Youtube video up for a competition. I recorded it three times before I did it in a way that was close to perfect. With editing to be done and a deadline to be met I stayed up until 2:00AM editing and uploading. Although I’m not completely hopeless on a computer I’m certainly no wiz.

Making my Youtube account I wanted to add my channel art right away. There is a size requirement and depending on the size of the screen you are viewing on you may only see part of the picture. I had to make sure the important bit was set to the middle. This took me about four tries of playing around with the image to get it sitting right. I am not overly happy with the outcome so I will put some time aside to create a new one over the next week or so.

The first problem I came across was the video was saved in the wrong format and I couldn't upload the file to Youtube. I was able to sort this out in under an hour so thought I was going strong. Once I thought everything was right I started the upload. With only 125 minutes to wait my first video would be up in the world of Youtube. At this point it was 2:00AM, needing sleep I set my laptop to stay awake all night then went off to bed in excitement my video would be up when I woke.

After a few hours’ sleep I got up and checked the upload, it had worked! I was so happy and also extremely nervous that a handful of stranger's would be watching me … but that turned into the least of my worries. Turns out the video had a black border and goes for about thirteen minutes when I only speak for about four. So for ten minutes it’s just a frozen frame of my face. I used windows live movie maker which I have never used before. Think I will have to Youtube a few tutorials of how to use it.

After searching for help I didn't find much I had a little play round trying to fix it myself and I did! There is now no black border and it now stops when I stop talking. Working at something till you get a good end result is worth it no matter how long it takes or how frustrating it is!

If you would like to see my creation here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQSr0fXCjag
If you came here from Youtube Welcome!
