This isn't beauty related but is a big part of ZedshaZed so thought I would do a blog about my troubles with Youtube.
The day before last I put my first Youtube video up for a
competition. I recorded it three times before I did it in a way that was close to perfect. With editing to be
done and a deadline to be met I stayed up until 2:00AM editing and uploading. Although
I’m not completely hopeless on a computer I’m certainly no wiz.
Making my Youtube account I wanted to add my channel art right
away. There is a size requirement and depending on the size of the screen you
are viewing on you may only see part of the picture. I had to make sure the important
bit was set to the middle. This took me about four tries of playing around with
the image to get it sitting right. I am not overly happy with the outcome so I will put some time aside to create a new one over the next week or so.
The first problem I came across was the video was saved in
the wrong format and I couldn't upload the file to Youtube. I was able to sort this out in under an hour
so thought I was going strong. Once I thought everything was right I started
the upload. With only 125 minutes to wait my first video would be up in
the world of Youtube. At this point it was 2:00AM, needing sleep I set my
laptop to stay awake all night then went off to bed in excitement my video
would be up when I woke.
After a few hours’ sleep I got up and checked the
upload, it had worked! I was so happy and also extremely nervous that a handful
of stranger's would be watching me … but that turned into the least of my
worries. Turns out the video had a black border and goes for about thirteen minutes
when I only speak for about four. So for ten minutes it’s just a frozen frame
of my face. I used windows live movie maker which I have never used before. Think
I will have to Youtube a few tutorials of how to use it.
After searching for help I didn't find much I had a little play round trying to fix it myself and I did! There is now no black border and it now stops when I stop talking. Working at something till you get a good end result is worth it no matter how long it takes or how frustrating it is!
